Start by adding ice, fresh fruit, or sweetener to the glass carafe. Then add loose leaf tea and hot water into the filter on top and steep. When done, unlock the filter to release the hot tea over the ice in the carafe below for instant chilling. The loose tea leaves are stored in the filter and can be disposed/composted when done. If you have leftover iced tea, the system doubles as a storage container–simply replace the cap and place in the refrigerator.

How to use the Tea Jay Iced Tea Maker:
1. Add ice and flavor enhancers: Unscrew the stainless steel filter top from the glass carafe. Fill the carafe 3/4 full with ice. Add your choice of sweeteners, seltzer, fruit slices, or fresh herbs to taste. Replace stainless steel filter top and twist clockwise (right) until tight. Place the black cap on top and twist it clockwise to lock.
2. Steep the tea: Open the reservoir by gripping the top of the black cap and lifting it straight upwards. Add 3-4 teaspoons of your favorite into the reservoir (or more for a stronger flavor), then add 8-9 ounces of hot water until nearly full. Replace the cap on top without twisting and steep for the recommended amount of time, .
3. Flash chill: When done steeping, grip the cap and turn counter-clockwise (left) to unlock the reservoir, releasing the hot tea concentrate over the ice below. Twist the cap clockwise (right) to re-lock. Pour the chilled iced tea from the carafe into highball glasses and enjoy!
